The next character to appear in the progressive descent we are making - which started at "0-The Fool" and then went on to "I-The Magician" - is "II-The High Priestess". She is also the first feminine character to emerge from the light.
Think of her as the absolute dark (the dark of the womb, the dark of the place beneath the earth, the dark of the hermit's cave) in which the spark of knowing resides - ready to blossom in due time. Out of the still, dark place issues life. "II-The High Priestess" is the secret who is yet to make herself known.
